The University of Jordan is actively working towards establishing itself as a premier global institution, with a strong commitment to enhancing scientific leadership in addressing global challenges. Courses are conducted in English, enabling students to engage with urgent global issues, and they receive a comprehensive education that equips them with theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively address the challenges of the future.​​

The Department of International Relations and Regional Studies is dedicated to fostering excellence in the educational and training processes across a diverse range of programs and courses. Its commitment is evident in the pursuit of multidisciplinary research and teaching methodologies that leverage modern technologies.

The department actively engages in discussions surrounding international politics and major conflicts on a global scale. Comprising four distinct programs, namely the Master Program in Diplomatic Studies, the Master of Conflict Resolution Program, and the Master of American Studies program, it offers a comprehensive and nuanced approach to the study of international relations.

Through these programs, the department aims to provide students with a robust understanding of diplomatic practices, conflict resolution strategies, and in-depth insights into American studies.​

Political Science Political Science 1

The Department of Political Science was initially established in 1965 and underwent relocation across several schools, with its final placement being in the School of Arts. Subsequently, it relocated to the Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II School of Political Science and International Studies.

Similar to counterparts in Arab and foreign universities, the department's primary objective is to equip its members with political and diplomatic expertise. It provides them with opportunities to delve into overarching political theories, international relations, international law, and a comprehensive understanding of various political system proposals.

The department is dedicated to achieving this through a methodological approach that enhances analytical skills for a thorough examination of political systems in all their facets. ​
